The weekend happened, that’s what.

At this point I’m feeling like something large and wheeled has backed over me. I’m tired and lethargic and despite my giant coffee earlier, I’d really much rather be in bed.

The day was pretty sweet. My niece Jena and her child came to visit, and on a whim we took the train to Sandgate. I think it’s the first time my parents have been on a train in the last ten years, and despite their enthusiasm for it all, I doubt they’ll catch one in the next ten.

We went to the lagoon and watched as some jerk fed the turtles. There were probably a billion of them, and they were all climbing over the top of each other. Then we had coffee and went home again where I had a sleep.

Yesterday was the OpenStreetMap thing, and I enjoyed myself even though I didn’t end up doing very much more than drinking Coke Zero at the Samford Valley Hotel. I was disappointed to note that the two bars charged different prices; the outdoor bar being a dollar extra or somesuch. I’m also now a member of CommonMap, although the whole concept makes me jaded because licenses and legalese suck and why can’t we all get along?
