My sunburn was a pretty big deal too. I apparently failed at putting it on properly, because I had patches of burnination all up my arms and legs.
As soon as I got home I moisturised the shit out of them, and the next morning it was all fine except for my wrists which looked really unhappy with me. The moisturiser had taken all the pain out of the sunburn, but my wrists had turned a particularly deep red-purple kind of colour that seemed to say “I’m most definitely a second degree burn.”
We weren’t out for too long, and the redness started to come up before it was even time to contemplate the second application of sunscreen. I like to think it’s a somewhat unsubtle reminder that I should take more care when I take my white, fleshy body out into the sun. The itching is incredible.
I’ve also got a really impressive bruise from where I walked stupidly into the latch mechanism of the gate in the driveway. It was a pointy-outy metal thing which took quite unkindly to my leg, and hurt like nothing else. Now I’ve got a massive purple welt on my thigh which is still puffy and ridiculous.
It’s apparently my week in the personal injury brigade.
Tomorrow it’s back to work. I’ve had a fair break and I’m well rested, now it’s time to get to business and wrap up some projects I’ve had dragging through the Giftmas period. Nothing too difficult, if a little time consuming, I’m looking forward to getting them jiving.
