Today is a wonderful day. I’ve done at least a hundred things, and my plans for world domination are reaching fruition.
The bananas that Mum grew kind of reached peak fruition yesterday, and having finished the last one of the season this morning I can safely say I am glad they’re gone. If they’d stuck around any longer they would have disintegrated into goo. Bananagoo. Not as pleasant as it sounds.
The builder was supposed to turn up this morning, so I got up at an ungodly hour so I could shower — before he arrived — in the bathroom without a door. The fact that he’s still not turned up at half past twelve makes the day seem to have slipped by a lot faster than it actually has. I’ve spent all morning doing a cross between janitorial and personal computer geek tasks and without realising it, I’ve finished a whole bunch of stuff I’ve been wanting to get done for a while. I usually only do this kind of stuff outside of business hours, but I kind of missed business opening at 9 AM and nobody’s bugged me yet so I suppose I can get away with it.
I’m planning on going cycling with Matty P over the weekend. We haven’t organised too much yet so it’s possible it won’t end up happening (in which case I’ll go somewhere less ambitious by myself.) I suggested we should go to Lake Samsonvale, and I’m not quite sure why because it’s kind of in the middle of nowhere and there’s about six billion square kilometres worth of hills, but it was near where I wanted to go and it would make a nice place to have lunch and/or pass out on the grass near the treatment plant.
I think Matt may have mistook my suggestion of “the dam” as “Lake Kurwongba” which is in somewhat more of a gully as you’d expect lakes to be, but I can clear that up later I’m sure.
The builder just called, and he’s on his way now. He also gave me the story of why he was late, and what he’d spent all his time doing. I don’t care why he’s not on time, and to be honest I don’t even care that he’s not on time at all. I’m so cruisy today.
