Friday’s Where it’s At

The train pulled in to Altandi station and I alighted with all kinds of grace and style. I then proceeded to trip up the stairs.

It was about four in the afternoon, and I was pleased to find that the sun has passed its zenith. The vicious heat from earlier in the day had been drawn out of the air, and it was a rather pleasant afternoon. The half hour walk to Tatey’s place took half an hour or so.

In Tatey’s hallway, we had an awkward shuffle before deciding to head straight out and get alcohol. Owen would arrive at any minute, I was assured, so we made haste in order to get back before he arrived.

I didn’t even plan on drinking initially, but both Owen and Tate were doing it, so it was bleedingly obvious that I should too. Owen was bringing his fine fortified palisaded reinforced electrified bourbon made out of liquid corn, and Tate was planning to stick to Asahi. I thought “why not, I’ll get myself a little bottle of something; I won’t drink much.”

How wrong I was.

I didn’t drink much, but I did end up getting a massive bottle of bourbon all for myself. The price difference between small and large bottles was negligible, so I figured I might as well stock up for next time as well.

So while I had a massive bottle, and drank a tiny amount, I got really pissed. I can’t actually remember the last time I had alcohol (I can actually, but I can’t remember when, it was that long ago,) so apparently that was reason enough for two or three shots to kick me to the floor. Literally, albeit on a bean bag.

I got almost nothing done that I’d planned to, and spent most of my time being irritating and tweeting incessantly. The product of the entire evening was two small functions for my new blog, and a stunning lack of hangover the next morning. All very anti-climatic, really.

Owen drove me home at around one in the morning, and aside being pulled over for breath testing at one of those traffic jammy blockades they put up on Fridays and Saturdays, it was a smooth ride.
