Self Portrait

I’ve been musing over starting a DailyBooth or Project 365, just because that’s my kind of thing.

While a 365 might be do-able, I’ve realised tonight that if I tried to capture and publish a photo of myself every day of the year I would probably develop some kind of complex. After my last arty if slightly too close-up profile picture failed to age very well, I spent some time trying to capture my more photogenic side again tonight.

Two hours worth of time, in fact. I’m not overly vain, but neither am I very good at taking self-portraits of myself. It can be said that I at least had fun in the process.

I got a few decent photos out of it, but this is my particular favourite because it underwent the most editing. It’s actually comprised of two nearly identical photos which I blended and otherwise fooled around with.

Now I’ve spent all that time trying to get a nice shot, I’m not happy. My face doesn’t scale down to avatar size well, because my glasses go funny. I also can’t make this a Facebook photo because it’s red, and Facebook is blue. I can’t win, I really can’t.

That said, I’m considering really hard about setting myself up a photoblog. I’ve got my Twitpic which I use on occasions, but I’ve wanted a photoblog for the longest time.
